What CDA President had the
signature greeting of “HOWDEEEE?” If your answer was Corinne
Williams, you are correct. Many of us remember her mentoring and
support as we entered or moved thorough positions in the profession.
Do you know which of our presidents became passionate about line dancing
after retirement? The answer to that question is Bernice Aarons.
Many of you, I am sure, remember Corinne and Bernice.
CDAF can award up to $8000 per year in scholarships to dietetic
technicians, undergraduates and graduate students in Dietetics. Yet, we
can do more. We have established scholarships in the names of
Corinne and Bernice. The scholarship for Bernice has yet to be
funded at the endowed level ($25,000) so that they can be given out.
We are pleased to announce that in the
2009-2010 year, the Corrine Williams Scholarship was awarded for the first
time!
During this year CDA experience a great loss in that Pauline Schatz passed
away. To honor this Great Leader of the Profession, CDAF is
accepting donations for a scholarship in her name.
If you would like to honor the
memory of these two inspiring individuals, Bernice and Pauline, please
consider donating. Both of these wonderful dietitians would have been
thrilled to know they would be helping to support our future.
