How do I qualify for membership to CTC?
Any
person, who is a member in good standing of the American Dietetic
Association (ADA), is eligible to become a member of CTC. ADA
members may hold membership in more than one district. |

To be
a member of CTC,
download the CTC Membership Application, contact one of the individuals listed below, or send
membership dues and name, credentials, address, phone, e-mail and
employment information to the address below. Membership is $35 per year
for active members (RDs), $30 for DTRs, $15 for retired individuals, and
$15 for students upon
completing a membership application.
If membership
application is received after September 30th, regular dues are $40, and name
will not appear in the district roster.

Membership Classifications
The
membership classifications are listed below. Members of CTC shall
have the same classifications of membership as they hold in ADA. |

Active Member Any person who has a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and meets academic requirements specified by ADA and who meets one or more of the following criteria may apply for Active membership:
1. Is a Registered Dietitian, credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
2. Has completed a pre-professional experience program accredited/approved by ADA.
3. Has earned a master's or doctoral degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university. |

Associate Member Any person who has earned
either a master's or a doctoral degree and who
holds one degree (baccalaureate, master's,
doctoral) in one of the following areas may
apply for Associate membership: dietetics, foods
and nutrition, community/public health
nutrition, food science, food service systems
management. A regionally accredited
college or university must confer each degree. |

Technician Member Any person who meets one or more of the following criteria may apply for Technician membership:
1. Is a Dietetic Technician, Registered
(DTR) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration or has established eligibility to write the examination for dietetic technicians.
2. Has completed an associate degree program for dietetic technicians that have been approved by ADA.
3. Is a graduate of a baccalaureate degree program and meets academic requirements specified by ADA with ADA
approved dietetic technician program experience. |

Retired Member
Any member of ADA who is no longer employed in
dietetic practice or education and is at least
62 years of age or is retired on total
(permanent) disability may apply for Retired
membership. All Retired members of ADA, at
the time any new classifications become
effective, shall continue in the retired
classification. |

Affiliate Member
Any person who meets one of the following
criteria and is not eligible for Active or
Technician membership may apply for Affiliate
membership:
1. Is a graduate of a baccalaureate degree
program and meets requirements specified by ADA.
2. Is a student enrolled in an ADA
accredited/approved dietetic program.
3. Is a student enrolled in a pre-professional
experience program accredited/approved by ADA.
4. Is a student in a regionally accredited, post
secondary education program, which is non-ADA
accredited/approved.
5. This classification is available for three
years to students who state intent to enter an
ADA accredited/approved program. |

Honorary Member
Any person who has made a
notable contribution to the field of nutrition
and dietetics may be admitted to the Association
as an honorary member upon invitation of the
Board of Directors. |

Returning Student Member
Any active or Associate member returning to
school on a full-time basis for a graduate
degree or any Technician member returning to
school on a full-time basis for a baccalaureate
or graduate degree may apply for Returning
Student status. Membership in the
Returning Student class must be renewed
annually, but must not exceed a maximum of 5
years. |

Programs are scheduled monthly throughout the year. Roster of
district members. Current state and federal legislative updates and action
alerts. Notice of employment opportunities within the district. Networking with friends and other professionals. Leadership training and volunteer opportunities. Mentoring programs
for students. Opportunities to hold elected and appointed offices and
positions at the district level. |
Rights and Privileges of
Membership
All Active, Associate, and Technician
members whose dues are not in arrears shall be
entitled to vote in the annual election. They
shall be entitled to hold elected and appointed
offices and positions at the national level as
designated by the House Delegates. They
shall be entitled to hold elected and appointed
offices and positions at the affiliate level as
designated by the affiliate dietetic
association.
All Retired members whose dues are not in
arrears shall be entitled to all rights of the
membership classification from which they
retired.
All Affiliate members whose dues are not
in arrears shall be entitled to hold appointed
positions at the national and affiliate
elections or hold elected positions on the
national or affiliate levels.
All Honorary members may serve as members
of committees and attend meetings. They
shall not be entitled to vote or hold elected
office.
All Returning Student members may attend
meetings, participate in continuing education
programs, serve as committee members; hold
appointed offices and vote in annual elections.
They shall not be entitled to hold elected
offices. |
