Our Time to Shine!

This year, National Nutrition Month is taking on special meaning because on March 10th, we will celebrate the first annual Registered Dietitian Day! Each year, RD Day will be celebrated the second Monday in March.
To help promote RD Day and National Nutrition Month, ADA has developed and posted on their NNM webpage, a varied collection of resources such as reproducibles, games and quizzes, and educational materials. Click the link below to part-take of their offerings.

To help promote RDs as the Nutrition Experts, new to the CDA Website homepage are two resource pages; one for consumers and one for professionals. When planning your NNM activities, you can now reference collected materials and refer consumers to the CDA website for nutrition and health information.

Recipe for Dietary Success: CA Subunit CD-HCF This workshop will be presented in Northern and Southern CA on March 7th and 14th, respectively.  Designed for RD consultants, DTR, DSS, CDM, dietary students, and others.  Resident-Centered dining programs, implementation of CAL-CODE, and risk reduction for unsafe food handling deficiencies are a few of the topics to be explored. WIC Food Summit Making Change Matter is the theme of the WIC Food Summit to be held April 7th in Los Angeles.  Discussion will focus on the new and updated foods provided low-income families through the WIC Supplemental Nutrition Program.  Click the title link for more information.

Health At Every Size 101- The Basics is the pre-conference workshop at the Assoc for Size Diversity and Health 2008 conference which will be held at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott.  The workshop will be held on July 11th, and the conference July 12th - 14th.  For more information, click the title link.

CDA On-Line Voting Available!

Yes that is right! Our CDA election season is in full swing and it is time that you cast your vote!

To make it easy and to save you a stamp, ON-LINE voting is available on the CDA Website for all ADA/CDA members.  Be sure to have your ADA registration number handy before you begin.  If you prefer the traditional mail-in option, all active members were sent a ballot in the mail with an addressed return envelope.

It is up to you: mail-in ballot or on-line voting.  Either way, please exercise your right to vote and do so soon because the last day to vote is February 25th, 2008!
