CDA is on Facebook!

Another line of communication has been opened!  CDA has joined the world of on-line networking by establishing a page on Facebook.  On the page there will be upcoming events, items of interest, survey questions, and specific notifications to keep you up-to-date.  CDA has begun a new chapter in its history and Facebook is another tool that can be used to keep you abreast of all that is to come!

Log on - check it out - connect with friends - become a fan!

Licensure Pursuit

CDA wants to advance all areas of dietetics practice in CA!  To this end, the CDA Executive Board used the expertise of a healthcare policy attorney to evaluate our Business and Professions codes (2585 - 2586.8).  The conclusion is that CDA needs to write and introduce legislation to re-structure our Business and Professions codes which will include licensure for RDs in CA.  This process will require support from all California RDs.  Watch for more detailed information in the Fall edition of the Bulletin which will be mailed to you in November.

Got Questions?  E-mail us at: RDLicensureCA@dietitian.org

Survey Question: Printing Less

In an environmental attempt to save paper, CDA is considering eliminating the session handouts from the annual meeting program book.  All session handouts will be made available for download from CDA's Website prior to and after the meeting.  The book will still contain all program information, maps, poster session information, CEU forms, and exhibit information.

Would you be in favor of this change - yes or no?  Let us know!  E-mail us at: survey@dietitian.org

CDAF Needs You!

Do you want to ...
  • have fun while contributing to a great cause
  • meet energetic dietetic professionals
  • learn skills which transfer to the workplace

Come join the CDAF board!

The California Dietetic Association Foundation (CDAF) is looking for a
Secretary / Treasurer

CDAF is the philanthropic arm of the CDA.  Our main purpose is to raise funds for scholarships for students, interns, and dietitians.  The position is for three years.  Major duties and responsibilities are as follows: keeping minutes of meeting, serving as custodian of financial records, and reviewing and developing yearly budget.  All members of the board attend CDA's annual meeting and participate in various fundraising events.  Belonging to CDAF is a great way to learn new skills, meet other dietitians, and contribute to a great cause; California's dietetic students.  If interested, please e-mail Debra Geary Hook, CDAF President at foundation@dietitian.org.
