Comprehensive Diabetes Education and Clinical Management Program
CEU: 35
Cost: $675
This five-day program explores diabetes care, looking at the whole
person including cultural adaptations, depression, behavior change
modalities and teaching principals. Interactive case studies will
teach you how to do a complete foot exam, manage blood pressure,
lipids, glucose, and indentify, prevent and treat acute and chronic
complications of diabetes. This course will cover metabolic
syndrome, pre-diabetes, clinical research, and more. The course fee is refundable, minus a
$25 processing fee, if your cancellation is received in writing by
fax or e-mail seven days prior to the class date. After this
date, under no circumstances will cash refunds be issued. However,
credit for a future class may be applied. No refunds or credits will
be given to "no shows." Scripps reserves the right to cancel a
class, in which case a full refund of your registration fee will be
provided.

SDDA to Tour Seabreeze Organic Farm

Time: 10:00 AM
Please make plans to join us for an
SDDA-sponsored Continuing Education Event - a tour of Seabreeze
Organic Farm. This exciting event will begin at 10:00 am on
Saturday, October 2nd, 2010.
The farm is located in Carmel
Valley. We will have a 90-minute guided tour during which SDDA
members and their guests will be learning about Seabreeze's
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and their innovative
growing techniques. Please feel free to bring your children
where they will be able to plant seeds and collect eggs.
This
is a 1.5 CEU opportunity for RDs and DTRs. Registration is
limited to 40 people and pre-registration is highly recommended.
To pre-register, please make a check payable to SDDA and postmark by
September 24th to Melissa Varela 6370 Caminito Andreta, San Diego,
CA 92111. The event is $15 for SDDA members and guests and $10
for children aged 3-10.
