Description: We all came into this world with bodies that knew what to do. Our bodies knew what they wanted and needed and what was enough and too much. Over time, we become disconnected from our bodies because of external ideas, expectations and demands. Body Trust® is a way to heal that involves reconnecting with – and re-centering – our bodies as wise, whole beings. It’s about challenging diet culture and developing a more attuned and trusting relationship with our bodies. It involves stepping outside of the mainstream diet paradigm and reclaiming freedom and autonomy. This presentation will cover the main elements to practice Body Trust.

Marcella Cox is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in treating eating disorders in the San Francisco Bay Area and is the Founder and Clinical Director of Kindful Body. Kindful Body is a collaboration of experienced eating disorder clinicians dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care. We provide online therapy in California to those wanting to recover from disordered eating and body shame.
